Analogies — What & Why?

An analogy is a relationship between two pairs of words/numbers/figures where the second pair shares the same relationship as the first pair.

Format: A : B :: C : ?

• ›Read as: "A is to B as C is to ?"
• ›Your job: Find the same type of relationship in the second pair.

Why it matters: Analogy questions are asked in almost every competitive exam including BPSC TRE, testing logical thinking and vocabulary.
