Why totals differ — 44, 48, 52. Books differ on whether to count the अयोगवाह, the संयुक्त and the उत्क्षिप्त. A question that asks for a total is asking for one book's count; the classes above are what stays fixed, so learn those.

The trap: योगरूढ़ and यौगिक both split into parts. The test is whether the meaning is the sum (यौगिक) or narrowed to one thing (योगरूढ़).
