Analogy and classification are the highest-density marks in the reasoning section. SSC CGL and CHSL set four to six of them, Railway NTPC and Group D three to five, and they appear in BPSC TRE-4 and CTET mental ability too. Each one takes about fifteen seconds if you have a method and about ninety if you do not — which is the real reason candidates run out of time, not the hard questions at the end.
The method is one sentence long: say the relationship aloud as a full sentence, then apply the same sentence to the second pair. 'A cobbler works with leather' — so 'a carpenter works with wood'. Notice that the sentence also fixes the direction. 'Wood is worked by a carpenter' is a different sentence, and papers exploit exactly that difference by offering an option that reverses the pair. Never eyeball an analogy. Say it.
